Highlights include a Raptor-specific 3.0-liter V6 engine good for 405 horsepower, Fox shocks at all four corners, 33-inch BFGoodrich KO3 all-terrain tires, and special drive modes that help optimize the truck for driving on different types of terrain. Besides, Fox shocks, skid plates, reinforced suspension components, and a host of terrain modes make this Ranger darn near unstoppable off-road. How comfortable is the Ranger Raptor? All those off-road goodies have a bonus effect: They make the Ranger Raptor super comfortable. The suspension is softly sprung, making this truck a whole lot nicer to drive in both the city and on the highway. The Ranger Raptor comes with front sport seats that are as plush as they are supportive and really improve this truck's long-haul comfort. Its 10.7-inch ground clearance isn't too high a step for those of us with shorter legs, and the driving position is the same once you're behind the wheel. Plus, you get those Raptor-specific comfy-cushy seats. That whole Built Ford Tough tagline is true: Every part of the Ranger Raptor feels like it was designed for prolonged hard use. Yet it doesn't give up much in the way of creature comforts. The Ranger Raptor is a hoot and a half. It's an unabashed hooligan designed for off-road good times. But it's not so overly focused on that dirt-slinging prowess that you can't live with it every day. The Ranger Raptor strikes a better balance between weekend warrior and weekday work tool than other trucks in this segment. It just oozes cool, with mega curb appeal. This truck simply begs to be jumped over a sand dune.
