Reviews: * Beyond its history of reliability and high resale value, the Accord is now more varied than ever. Whether you want a no-fuss and highly economical sedan, a sporty V6-powered coupe or a hybrid that attains 50 mpg in the city, the 2014 Accord offers something for everyone. Source: KBB.com * The 2014 Accord Plug-In is Honda's first production plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. On the outside it looks very similar to the Accord you are used to seeing, with the exception that under the hood advancements have been made to make your gas station stops much less frequent. This is a car drivers will love because of its fuel economy. Those with very short commutes of around 10 miles per day might never have to use the gas in their tank. This is because with its lithium-ion battery, it runs on electricity alone for the first 13 miles and then switches to hybrid gas and electric mode. As a hybrid, fuel economy is still impressive with an EPA estimated rating of 46-MPG City Highway combined. A major advantage of this car is it's quick charge time. Using a 120-volt charger, it will be charged up in less than 3 hours, and if you have a Level 2, 240-volt charger, you'll be ready to go in less than an hour. For the Accord Plug-In, aerodynamics were improved in the hood and front bumper, and aluminum was used in strategic spots throughout the car to reduce its overall weight. One thing you'll notice immediately is the electric charging port door, which is near the front wheel on the driver's side. Based on the top of the line Touring trim of the gas accord, inside the Plug-In version feels high-end and luxurious. It has comfortable, environmentally friendly seats, with fabric material that comes from sugarcane. It has a very innovative color changing dash that responds to how environmentally friendly you are driving. It glows green when you are driving in an efficient manner, and shifts to blue when it senses you might be being hard on the throttle. Plus, it gives you tech features to make you driving experience easier like heated front and rear seats, satellite navigation system with 8-inch high-resolution display, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure and forward-collision warning systems, and dual-zone climate control, and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
