The standard A8 comes with the same turbocharged V-6 that's helped out by an electric motor to produce 335 horsepower. We've only tested the V-6 so far, but at our test track it sprinted from zero to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds. The big A8 offers a very Audi-like blend of athleticism and ride comfort. An adjustable air suspension is standard and helps isolate occupants from road irregularities. Impressive passenger space is an A8 hallmark and its long wheelbase ensures that rear-seat passengers are accommodated nicely. The interior is made from fine materials and can be equipped with all manner of luxury options. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard as well as quick connecting Bluetooth. Front-seat passengers get a wireless charging pad and two USB ports in the center console, and rear passengers each get their own USB port. Though the last version aged well, the 2019 model is a leap ahead and a sporty one at that. It drives smaller than its size, but still offers a buttery ride. The interior tips off drivers on the radical changes wrought with the new A8. Audi replaces dozens of buttons and switches with a digital display and a pair of touchscreens. The upper screen displays navigation and infotainment services; the lower screen serves as the interface for climate control and accepts handwritten inputs. Audi designed the new A8's body using a multi-materials strategy. The core structure remains aluminum, but steel, carbon-fiber reinforced plastic, and magnesium now help reduce weight and increase body stiffness. Bold and chiseled outside and luxurious and high-tech inside, the 2019 Audi A8 embraces its flagship stature. The 2019 Audi A8 is sportier than other full-size sedans, but remains buttery smooth and offers plenty of power.
