In 1950, Harry Sheppard came to Lane County, Oregon, to start his own business. He was an entrepreneur following a dream, inspired by the Eugene scenery around him and the promise held by the area. Setting up shop on the corner of Tenth and Olive, Harry started Eugene’s first foreign import dealership — a “one man, one car” operation. Over 70 years later, we’re proud to say that Harry’s dealership is still owned by the Sheppard family. We began selling Volkswagen vehicles in the 1990s, and we moved to our current Volkswagen dealership building in 2003. But we aren’t done growing: We look forward to moving to a new and improved facility next to Interstate 5 in Q4 of 2023! As a third-generation family-owned and operated business (and Eugene’s oldest dealership), Volkswagen Eugene is part of a thriving local business community. We’re proud to continue Harry’s legacy and commitment to doing business with honesty and integrity, and it’s our goal to grow and improve every day.
