At the turn of the last century, the Agresta family began in the transportation industry as blacksmiths in Southern Italy, crafting goat carts and shoes for local farmers. After immigrating to New Jersey in the early 1900s, Giuseppe Agresta continued the trade and passed it on to his son, Arthur I. With the rise of motorized vehicles, Arthur opened a Diamond T truck dealership, rooted in exceptional service. His son, Joseph Sr., saw an opportunity in leasing and began offering fleet and individual car leases—long before leasing was common. Through AVA Leasing, he built strong ties in the luxury auto space, eventually acquiring Benzel-Busch Motor Car in 1978. Joe transformed the dealership with innovations like personal reps, loaners, roadside help, and concierge service, while supporting local communities. His children continue the legacy today, focused on exceeding customer expectations.
